33 million PAYBACK users can look forward to a practical new feature: the familiar PAYBACK points, also known as Pointees, are now square. The reason for this is that PAYBACK is now represented on every corner in Germany thanks to its many partners. Customers can collect points at more than 700 partners and the new partner companies EDEKA, Netto Marken-Discount and soon also at the savings banks. “The fact that PAYBACK is now available on every corner must, of course, be reflected in our appearance and in the Pointees,” says Florian Wolfframm, member of the PAYBACK management team. “The switch to square points also brings a lot of advantages - for example, it's much easier for customers to stack their savings.”
Square points can now also be stored and processed more efficiently in the PAYBACK databases, as they adapt better to standardized grids, says Wolfframm. “The pointees are displayed very precisely in this new form on our multichannel marketing platform, which further increases user-friendliness. Calculating point values and converting them into discounts and rewards is also simplified by the use of square points,” says Wolfframm.
PAYBACK is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. Since the bonus program was launched, customers have saved points worth 6.6 billion euros. “If we put the square points the size of a 5 euro bill next to each other, these savings are equivalent to circling the equator four times! So we really can talk about the best PAYBACK of all time and the best points of all time,” says Wolfframm.
