Marketing is becoming increasingly multichannel and increasingly mobile. One million customers have now downloaded the app for PAYBACK, Germany's largest marketing platform.

Thanks to the success of this innovative communication channel, more and more companies are choosing “mobile PAYBACK”. Alongside partner companies such as Aral, Apollo-Optik, dm-drogerie markt, the Linda pharmacies, real,- and WMF, Amazon, iTunes and Zalando are among the new names to be included in the PAYBACK app, making it possible for customers to collect points or use coupons on the move.

“It's very practical for customers to be able to redeem coupons directly while they're shopping. That's why it's so popular. With its coordinated communications channels, PAYBACK is a key aspect of our overall marketing strategy. We can target customers effectively using its immense coverage,” says Christoph Werner, Managing Director for Marketing and Procurement at dm-drogerie markt. “The difference between PAYBACK and other coupons is how relevant the offers are for the customer.”

“The mobile channel is an essential element of successful multichannel marketing. Consumers are increasingly relying on Internet-enabled devices to help them make purchasing decisions. By expanding our mobile coverage, we are offering companies another building block for communication along the whole length of the customer journey,” says Dominik Dommick, Managing Director of Marketing & Digital at PAYBACK.

In 2012, the number of mobile coupons doubled compared to the previous year. PAYBACK customers were able to redeem over 5 billion coupons in total in 2012. The coupons on the PAYBACK app are easy to activate on the move. The points are automatically credited to the customer's account as soon as he shows his card at the cash desk. The app also shows the way to partners' outlets and the nearest ATM, for example.
