PENNY is a new PAYBACK partner

Discount supermarket joins Germany’s biggest bonus programme
Starting today, PENNY will become the first discount supermarket to offer its customers the possibility to collect and redeem PAYBACK points and make great savings. Points can be collected in all 2,150 PENNY stores across Germany and, in the coming months, while shopping online via the PENNY website - www.penny.de. All PAYBACK cards, including the new PENNY branded PAYBACK card, can be used to collect points. Customers can also use the PAYBACK mobile app, where they can activate their vouchers and make payments, too. On the launch, Chief Executive of the German Retail Board and PENNY COO Stefan Magel said: “Shopping at PENNY is now more appealing than ever. Our customers can collect points, use coupons to benefit from even more offers, and redeem the points in multiple ways – for example as store credit to use when paying at PENNY. Saving money on your shopping really is that simple. When it comes to PAYBACK, our strapline “Erstmal zu Penny” (“First stop at PENNY”) really does hold true.”

“PENNY is the latest highlight in our loyalty programme. Many of our 30 million customers in Germany expressed their desire to be able to collect points at PENNY”, says PAYBACK CEO and EVP Global Loyalty Coalition, Bernhard Brugger. “We are thrilled that we were able to win over PENNY with our digital and mobile services and that the company can now offer coupons and deals that are highly relevant to their customers.” With around 2,180 stores and 27,000 members of staff, PENNY achieved a turnover of over €7.4 billion in 2017 in Germany alone. PENNY also has over 1,400 stores and 21,000 members of staff overseas, where they turned over €4.5 billion.
