More and more people in Germany are collecting PAYBACK points using their smartphone. Downloads of the multi-award-winning app from Germany’s largest multi-channel marketing platform have now passed the two million mark. Usage is rising at a similarly rapid pace, with a PAYBACK coupon redeemed via a smartphone every second in Germany. The free app has also ranked among the top 20 of the most popular apps in Germany for several months (Statista App). In total, over 20 million customers in Germany collect PAYBACK points, and that figure rises to more than 50 million worldwide.
“The redemption rates for mobile coupons are significantly higher than for other coupons. Even today, one in three digital coupons are activated via a smartphone,” says PAYBACK Managing Director Dominik Dommick. In terms of ratios, the share of online and mobile usage has doubled within a year. In terms of volumes, digital coupons overtook print versions at PAYBACK a long time ago. Over 2012 as a whole, 1.5 billion print coupons were dwarfed by 3.8 billion digital coupons.
On September 18th and 19th, the multichannel marketing platform PAYBACK is showcasing its services under the slogan “The PAYBACK Trialogue” in Cologne, Germany, at Europe’s leading digital marketing trade show, dmexco. Companies, online shops and advertisers visiting the PAYBACK stand in Hall 7 will be able to see how they can run integrated personalised campaigns that encompass all channels and make customers the right offer at the right time through the right channel – all to achieve the maximum possible ROI.
